Default Tecar Forum Etka v2 updates - For XP

Anyone know how to get arround this issue? v2 downloads all the new updates, but when I select Yes to install I get "Access Denied" popup.

UAC is turned off.

I have even given myself full control over EVERY file within the Tecar Forum folder.

still will not install updates.

tried reinstalling running as Administrator and applying the Beta Hardlock emulator. nothing seems to work. any help?

seems this is a vista issue as I have installed on an XP machine and updates work fine.

anyone installed Tecar Forums Etka v2 on Vista and have it totally working?

I have managed to get a working version on my XP Laptop, but it is Vista Ultimate that seems to not like this version. HArdlock could be an issue, since i have reset all perms so I have FULL access but still it will not work.

shame really i have seen a few people struggling with this issue but so far no real fix is there unless it is in Russian.

can l run this along side the old etk or can l save updates in case l have to reinstall the old one m8 ?

I dont know, I just copied the original folder, then uninstalled it. then installed v2 using makeiso and burning to DVD just to make sure something I had missed. if you have XP it will work, if you have Vista its a problem.

Had the same problem running it on vista too. Couldnt find any help, as you say the only sites that mention it are in russian. Still looking though

its either a hardlock issue with vista when physically updating or a perms issue. pity really as this is a really nice package now. I'll use it on my laptop for now and use etka 7.0 on my main pc.

I have it installed under vista and the updates installed manualy.Program works normal.
I have it installed on an clean pc with vista home premium.

yes and the password for the HARDLOCK beta is:

Tecar.Forum.Emulator._2009(0^

I did infact have a problem reverting back to v7, but got that fixed. there are a few files that need to be deleted in c:\windows to revert back. do a search for etk*.* in c:\windows if you need to revert back.

its working great on my spare xp pc at home and l only use xp at work so lm going to fine with this , but l am still trying to install on vista tho .. theres a few posts on the web that have done it


edit .. tried everything ... lucky v7 is till working ok at home on the vista pc ... but at least l know it will be good at work .. cheers m8

yeah, it seems a strange one really. I've applied the Hardlock and Vista.exe patches but it dont work here when I apply the updates. it will however download them from the net! weird. I resided the fact it aint gonna work on this PC the way it is at present. i'm not gonna go further with this as yet. its working on the XP laptop at present.
