App Store on 1st Gen Ipod Version 1.1.5

I have a 1st gen Ipod on software version 1.1.5, iTunes says it's the latest. Would like App Store on it, I'm aware that it requires a later software version, where is the best place to get the latest software available for it? Also what is the best and most reliable way to jailbreak it. New to the apple scene so just wanting a reliable website and guide please. Also what is an untethered and tethered jailbreak? I'm aware of similar posts made last year however figured there may now be a later software version or better jailbreak method. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

must be able to update higher than that ?


upgrade your iPod if it's 1st generation to 3.1.3 and then use Spirit; or Jailbreakme .com to jailbreak it.

Turned out to be really simple, was expecting there to be more to it!
