1m motorized dish, quality strength?

the dish elevation is set to 40 and a bit degrees
not 22 degrees,i think you need to alter to 22 degree

that is the other side of the technomate 2600 motor. one side says elevation and the other says lattitude.

the actual dish itself that is fixed on the bracket is set to 22 degress.

this is the dish elevation at 22 degress, i have tried nudging the elevation up and down and this seams to be the best position for a signal

ok stick the motor onto 52ish on the lattetude side tighten up,
leave dish about 22,then go into usals and enter 51.630N and
0.0100W see how that goes

ok mate thanks, will mark off were my current settings are on the dish, then follow your advise and see what i get. if it all goes tits up i can them revert back to the settings i have now.

one more thing, based on the settings i have shown you and the latitude i live at, is it safe to say that the professional satellirte installer got the settings wrong based on my latitude?

i want to challenge what he has done as i believe that he never set it up correctly a week ago.

at the time i was a complete noob, but now through taling on the forum and google i have a much better understanding of how it works.

From your photo your Lat is showing 49 when it should be a just under 52, based on your 51.6 N. If you get this correct,and your motor assemble is setting correctly on 90 degree pole, with the LNB pointing true south and the motor reading underneath is on O, then the arc will be correct. It is then a matter of adjust the elevation of your dish to the best signal. As Thor is 0. 8 w your can used this as a reference point. So after setting up motor, go to Thor, the motor setting underneath should be around O, adjust the dish elevation for best signal. Adjust LNB for best signal. You could also fine tune your left and right if you are using USUALS, and see if there is an improvement, if there is, it will mean you will after manually adjust the motor asemble slightly left-right for peak signal,but unless you are using an expensive sat meter, you should not be able see a difference.

ok mate just moved the dish to thor 1.0w on my technomate and the motor is on 0, when i move to 1.0w

so i just need to move the lat on the dish now to just under 52?

this is what i just done:

set the motor to thor 1.0w. the motor is on zero now

moved the latitude on the motor to 51.6ish

this was done by adjusting for best signal strength using my box (in and out the house about 50 times)

then with the latitude set at 51.6ish, i moved the dish elevation until i could get the strongest signal

the best i get is 70%

now my latitude is set to 51.6 on the box.

is this correct have i configured it correctly to follow the belt correctly?

Hi M8,

when you say the motor is on 1w and on 0 marking on the motor , your still slightly out. The '0' marking on the motor is for you to point the whole dish and motor assembly to the true south location, Then you go inside enter your lat and lon readings into the TM5402 and then move your dish to 1 west.

When you come back outside you will notice that the motor scale underneath should be just slightly off '0', thats when you move the whole dish and motor assembly to get your best signal on thor.
