CCcam 3G?

Has anybody tried using cccam over a 3G connection? I am not sure how much data cccam uses decrypting sky uk. We have a motor home and while away I was thinking of getting a wireless bridge for my 500s and use my iPhones 3G connection. Would this work?

Cardsharing uses very little data so I wouldn't worry about your bandwidth allowance getting eaten up. Depending on how good your 3G service is will determine whether it's actually watchable. A lot of people have said it's fine but my Three dongle was terrible and key exchanges are time critical so any drop in signal could manifest as a glitch or freeze on your screen.

I'm also not sure an iPhone connection can be shared like that with a wireless bridge. I'm not an expert on phones so I'm sure someone will clarify soon. I would have imagined the best option would be a laptop, as you can create an ad-hoc network to your phone and share the net connection using a jailbreak cydia app.

I did it with a wireless 3 g router and put it at top of the house.
used three network and voda but found voda best as there was bit of freezing with 3

I have used a Tmobile USB dongle in a laptop and shared the connection though the rf45 port direct to a dreambox but you do need a crossover cable to so this with great success.

How to connect dream box using 3g, GPRS or HSPA


1. Connect your USB dongle to computer and connect to the internet.
2. goto run menu and type cmd or
accessories Command Prompt/ Programs /start
3. you will get dos command screen
4. type ipconfig
5. You will be given two ip settings, you might see on top 192.168.0.1 or some ip range.
7. Connect your dream box to tv and connect your computer also, if you connect using directly, you should use cross cable to connect your computer.
8. you should share your network connection, to do that
network connections / settings
9. start select your 3G or GPRS connection.
10. click right mouse button and select properties and select advance tab on the dialog box and on the internet connection sharing tab select allow user to share my internet connection


click ok button and close it

Then go to dreambox on the set ip address as if you computer ip communication settings settings menu is 192.168.0.1 then select your ip as 192.168.0.2 then Set gateway as your computer ip “192.168.0.1” and name server also same ip rest of the things same.

Save it and close

Wait till online comes and try to browse channels

i have a tp link 3420 3g router and you just set it up to auto log on when you switch it on you just put your 3g dongle into it you may have to play with the provider to get the best signal an unlocked dongle and a few different sim cards might be the way to go. manic did not know Joe sold them
