Dreambox 800HD vs SpiderBox 9000HD

the law sates that any person who supplys information or means to recive pay tv with out paying subscription is commiting fraud weather it in person or over the internet.Like jackpot say if you did it with sky they would hang you out to die just ask the bloke in liverpool who got jailed.In Cyprus there were raids against people running/using payserver and court apperances to follow.
So in letting this sort of server/gift be openly talked about on here is sailing very lose to the wind

but back to the subject i would go for the dm800 before the spiderbox put it this way you wont see our friends in china cloneing sipderboxs why???

i to would buy a dm800 however it would have to be a genuine one not a clone ( bad experience ) but the spider is a low cost alternative , 1 reason chinese do not clone is no vast profit on clone spiderbox also not open source linux, more difficult for firmware !

i do believe there is an option to buy it without the gift
to be honest with you i do not use the gift whats available is not exactly prime anyhow
the eagle box i have is a dm clone i need say no more
however as a budget hd reciever the spider hits the mark
if someone advises me how to completly remove the gift i would without any hesitation, it would open 2 further slots for cccam etc.

I believe by factory resetting the box will remove the gift but obviously you'd have to set the box up from scratch again(bit of a pain)and i also believe when you do a software update if you do software and all data update that removes the gift.Not tried it myself so dont quote me but its what i've red elswhere.

i have done factory reset does not remove it but you have to apply the so called gift patch to enable the network / server portion part of the menu again
without that the box is truely fta but i need to enter data in newcamd / cccam area's
not sure about sw/data update all i have read you may lose your registration code not that it completly removes all neuxostream references
perhaps someone could advise

Just had a look at the dec 09 patch(NO GIFT)and this might be what your after.gives you what your after(newcs etc) but i'm not sure you'll not be going back to the issues earlier patches had(cccam) as since then there doesn't seem to be any updates for non gift boxes

If a dreambox thread is about cardsahring then ban/remove it but all this spiderbox talk is about the gift which is a server that shares cards and the only way to get accsess to this server is to buy a spiderbox so that in my eyes makes it a pay server

I think we all know where they originate from, but I think that's the basis some members post on rather than the plus and minus points of the receiver, yes they are not perfect but what receiver is, they are a great priced receiver for what they do, gift or no gift, the gift is only a bonus, though yes I can quite understand that it maybe is this part of the receiver that gets promoted a little to much.... Look beyond the gift and you have a great priced receiver for what it does....

The original post, is Spiderbox better than DM800HD, the answer is I don't know! It depends on what you want from the receiver, for some the Spiderbox is better, for some the Dreambox, it really is a personal choice thing, I as a seller run and try them all, test them out, I want to know what I'm selling.... I have here running right now a clone DM500 (we don't sell clones BTW), a CubeRevo, a Spiderbox 9000HD, Spiderbox 5000SD, Eagle and a Humax Freesat receiver, Technomate TM-800HD (how many can say they have one of these to test!) and finally a DM500HD, could I really pick one of these and say this is the best? Honest answer, no!

All have plus and minus points, depends what you need it to do... You can see by the mix of makes and models I have here right now (all of which we sell bar the Humax and DM500 clone) I have no affiliation to any maker or model, I like to test them all, it's a great job

you need to get back to the stickies if you think a eurovox,starbox(starview) work the same way as c/s they are not even linux base boxes they use cam to open the keys NOT c/s via server private or a gift.Cam discusion is allowed on this site c/s is not As for loading firmware ie images on this site they do not contain any keys qoute"# Do not post images with keys or roms included

I have been looking to get a hd800 clone But i get mixed opinions, alunfennel, who to me is an extremely knowledgable member along with others insist that clones are very temperental, yet others say Its worth it. Just something for you to think about mate.

I Just purchased a clone 800hd and it dead. The person i bought it off is replacing the unit free of charge and testing it before he ships it out. My first impressions of the box is thats its a nice piece of kit to be honest. I nearly went with the Spiderbox but in end chose the DM800HD

i got a 9000 hd and it came as a free to air only receiver
and to get the gift the gift patch had to be loaded and set up
i have never bought any receiver that came any other way
from what iv'e read if you load a non gift patch
and select [sw/data update all] to load it on the receiver
this will clear the gift patch this is why they say write down
the serial number and key number to get the gift back if you
make a mistake when loading any new patches
