Post New Satellite Install advice Needed Please

    Hi Everyone

Firstly I would just like to mention how great the forum is!

Going to have a satellite installed soon and need some advice - your help is much appreciated!

    1) I'll be going for this dish -Force Frontier Multi Sat Dish

Wavefield DS 55cm Force Frontier Multi Sat Dish

And I wanted to know your thoughts, Is this a good dish to receive several channels from different satellites? I Didn't want to go for a motorised system due to maintenance and the wear and tear of moving parts. I think this should do the job with a dream box - what's your opinion?

    2) I need to know which satellites to connect to. I will have several LNB's on the dish (3 or 4), but unsure which ones to connect to.

    I know I need Euro bird 1 at 28.2°E for S*Y UK.

I would like the most popular satellites so that I can watch movies, sports, documentaries and PPV events (preferably in English and Free where possible). Can you guys recommend other satellites that I should connect to?? What are the best ones??

    Much appreciated!

55cms is way too small mate, you wont get many of the weaker birds with this dish..

If you want to open Sky UK then you need an official sub, as with most European broadcasters their encryption is locked down..

A motor will last you over 2 years If you have a good one. My fortec motor is coming upto 2 years next month. Not much affect from wear And tear. In all honesty worth it If you wish to use european satellites. You will also be better off with a dish on the good side of 80cm

Can you give me some advice as to which dish to purchase please, any suggestions? Ideally I want to move away from a motorised dish as it will need replacing after a couple of years. But if there are no good ones then can you suggest another dish. Ideally within a price range of around £100 - £150.

    Many thanks for your help.

Motorised for defo m8.You can get a TM5400 receiver with 80cm dish motorised for about £150.
Then see how you enjoy this hobby and upgrade to HD receiver and bigger dish later on if you want to.
