good choice of receiver very friendly menu's and easy to program and lots of support and users here who will help if you need info etc: as for the dish i would go for a 1 mtr dish mate with this you will get a good signal from most sats in the uk. i also take it you have read that lots of providers are changing encryption at this time and the patches etc:
might not open as much in the future and we could have very little to watch

Like Benny said (good system) But now might not be the best time to invest you hard earned money, things are changing realy fast at the moment with regards to encryption, Technomate (except for the TM9100 Linux) can not handel official cards such as Nagravision 3 and a few other new official encryption cards, this does not bode well for any unofficial future hack if any of nagravision 3 (Technomate at the moment are not listed as compatable with the latest version of Nagravision 3 and one or two other newly released encryptions).

If you still intend spending your money future proof yourself at least with a Linux based receiver like the TM9100 or Derambox range of receivers, The ordinary Technomates are simply not going to be fast enough or have enough memory to run any new EMU's that may come along in the future, Especially if official cards do not run in them as it stands.

I wud recomend the tm9100s iv just got one and can't fault it. It's a Linux box with pvr ci slot 2 card slots and a mmc slot completely future proof " I hope LOL " also I went for a 95 cm motorized and it works a treat

There is a NDS card fix as you know with Technomate receivers as its added to most of the patches so your S*k card ect will work, but as for the new nagra3 cards it dont work and will only work on certain receivers, I have added a list below.

If your receiver will not run a official card, there is not much hope it will run a future EMU should Nagra 3 be hacked in the future, this is based on the speed of the Processor & size of memory mounted in the receiver.

With NDS card change later this year its reported they will be quickening up the Rom to hamper Cardsharing this will effect none Sky Receivers such as the Technomate and could very well end up like the Nagra3 cards not working on a lot of off the shelf receivers. Eventually all new official cards will need faster machines to run them.
