blackra1n jailbreaks the phone but doesn't unlock it ?

Currently on 3UK network and I want to buy a o2 3gs iphone and unlock and jailbreak it.

I know jailbreaking the phone will be possible, but will I have to use a pre-activated custom 3.1.2 firmware to unlock it ?

Or am I talking a load of rubbish ?

Wait till Wednesday m8, BlackSn0w will be released so you can unlock official firmware 3.1.2, then you can use your Iphone on any network.

Blackrain and Blacksn0w are 2 different programs, Blacksn0w has not been released yet.

Buying an iphone 3g s 16gb as a pay as you go.

£440 seems to be the lowest price and that's from apple, is that the lowest price in the uk for it ?

Gonna be putting a pre activated firmware 3.1.2 on it and then jailbreaking and unlocking with blacksn0w.

Orange announces its iPhone deals

Orange is also offering more minutes and messages – O2 gives you 72 minutes and 125 messages while Orange will sling 150 minutes and 250 messages your way.

Orange has also added a 24-month contract for super-users. The £122.34 a month deal gives you unlimited texts and unlimited calls as well as the 750MB of monthly data which all the packages include.

If you fancy a PAYG model, the 3G can be yours for a hefty £333, if you promise to top up £50 per month. All PAYG accounts have 250MB data allowance per month and a year’s access to BT Openzone WiFi spots.

If your fancy’s still not tickled by any of these deals, then it’s also worth noting that Vodafdafone will also carry the iPhone in early 2010.

Arrives Tuesday, but my question.

If the iphone comes with 3.1 software, do I need the sim card in the phone before updating to 3.1.2 ?

Also do I need to Activate the iphone before jailbreaking and unlocking the iphone ?

Nope, just jailbreak it then unlock it then stick yer sim in.
Then connect it to Itunes m8.
