Default peugeot 206 emmisions

Hi,
i have a 206 xsi on a 53 plate.
its the 1.6 16v engine.
failed mot on emmisions badly.
all sensors have been replaced(lamda etc)
to check but still the same.
it runs fine apart from emmisions.
do you guys think its the ecu as i have
been told it could be.
dont want to change it unless i have to
as its a pain to get it recoded.
let me know if you have any ideas.
cheers

We need to know whet and when it has failed on. Also are the sensors genuine or cheapo rubbish.
Post the readings here and we can help you then.

Have the codes read by a dealer or independent garage. Doesn't have to be a sensor, it could be a wiring problem also.
And I agree, post the readings from the emission test.

ok
HC was 251ppm vol on first fast idle test
and 239ppm vol on second fast idle test.
CO was 9.9%vol on natural idle test.
lamda reading outside specified limits.
these are all thats listed.

its been on independant garages computer
and no fault codes.they then swopped all sensors
for new ones and same readings.
he did say the ecu wasnt getting readings from
the lamda sensor and another sensor.
he thinks ecu is corrupted or not working
correctly but he cant be sure.
what do you think is it worth swopping the
ecu.

Ecu's are quit expensive to try. It may be as simple as a leaking exhaust manifold or a problem in the wiring between the ecu and the Oxygen sensor. What is the name of the other sensor that doesn't work?
I would take it to a dealer for a second opinion. They have the expertise and the wiring diagrams so they can check it.
