I would like to flash the optical drive on my xbox to be able to play backed up versions of my own games. Would just like some clarification please as to how it's done for my particular dashboard version and drive. It's a black xbox 360 elite 120gb. I declared war with it earlier on trying to get it open to see which dvd drive I haveEventually got it open, it's a Liteon DG-16D2S-09C, manufactured in 2009, hardware version: A0A2 original firmware version: 83850C. The console's software was updated a few months ago, current dashboard version is 2.0.14719.0, not sure if the software update has updated the dvd drive firmware? I am new to all this so can someone please tell me if I require a part (some sort of circuit board) to connect the drive to my PC in order to flash it, if so which part & where is the best place to purchase it in UK? Also, what is the best method to flash it? Thanks in advance

Thanks cunny x360v2 is pretty expensive though, £50 on ebay, & the probe about £20, so around £70. Is there not any cheaper devices which can get the job done? Can get it done locally for £10.
You will need probe v3 to obtain key. If your using a pc get a via6421 pci card. Then just a ck3i to power the drive and connect the probe. The probes are £10 from modtraders. You should be able to get a ck3i mini or somethin along them lines
