Hi Guys,
I'm the happy owner of an Eurovox box, but I was toying with the idea of upgrading to the new PVR version. When I started hearing about the Dreambox and was advised to try this forum for some real info.

Basically, I'm a little confused over whats the difference between images, and which images work with what models, not to mention the plugins, bootlmanagers, etc, etc...

I'm hoping most of this stuff will make sence when I actually do it, but for now i'm still trying to decide on either the Dreambox is worth the extra money over the Eurovox, considering I have both a MCE PC and an Xbox running XBMC as an extender.

Anyway, any links to reviews, guides, or tips would be most welcome, along with an opinions over which boxes you guys prefer.

I do like the idea of the Dreambox, not just is it a STB but a new toy to play with too. But, as my Linux skillz are pretty much nil. It maynot be a idea to update/change anything on it before the soaps start.
The Dog dosen't like sharing the sofa.

Most of the Dreambox info/guides seem to be about the DM500, how much of that is transferable to the DM600.

The dm500c guides will be very much similar to the 600. If you are comfortable with a 500 , then a 600 is not that much different.
The 600 , you can change the tuner from sat to cable or vice versa.
You can add an Internal Hard drive for Recording.
And it has more memory to add larger images, and is a little faster.
Maybe has a better Tuner as well

apart from that, they are very much the same.

I knew about the tuner swapping, its one of the reasons I'm looking at the DM600. Our block is being wired up for Sly before Xmas, and I'm getting more and more p!ssed with Vermin and their service reducions. So it seems like the right box to go for.
Well, if I can explain to the beter half why i'm spending almost £100 over the Eurovox price.

Hopfully with the DM600 in front of me and the DM500 Guides on the screen, it'll make some sort of sence.
