    Default DM500 epg.dat file

    Hi,
I have played around with the Ppanel.xml file so I could play my own subtitles.
The only problem I see is how can I get the program information "online" so I could request the correct subtiltle. As I understand there is an epg.dat file that holds all of the epg data.
Is there a way to get the current program's name from it, or from any other source?

    thanks

    Default DM500 epg.dat file

    Thanks for the reply.
I'm using Drtic plugin for subtitles, but the only problem is that I have to find the name of the program and then go and fetch the correct subtitles file.
I'm trying to do it automatically, via script or via code, and I was wondering if anyone knows where the EPG data is stored inside of the dreambox...

    Hi,
Did you get anywhere with this?
Can you extract the program name, channel, time & date from the epg.dat?

When you open the file epg.dat from the command prompt (using vi) it is a datafile and its not in XML or another "text" format

For me, the EPG file is stored on my hard drive /media/hdd (I think, from memory)....
