Dream-Multimedia shows for the first time in Cologne DM500 HD

The receiver manufacturer Dream-Multimedia (Dreambox) is at this AngaCable of 26 to 28 May new HDTV products at booth H40 perform.

Apart from the DM 800 and 8000 HD PVR is the first time in Cologne DM 500 HD to see the manufacturer announced on Monday. More technical information will only Dream of Fair to deliver. According to initial information, it is a HDTV-capable variant of the DM 500, acting against its bigger siblings with only one SCART interface, small RAM and no CI expansion needs require.

The SAT + KABEL-PVR reference DM 8000 HD PVR has, inter alia, on a hard drive, optional DVD burner, wireless and removable tuner for digital cable, satellite and antenna reception (test in SAT + KABEL-edition 3 / 2009).

interesting, i see they are going for both c@tv and sat versions.... I wonder what sort of price tag they will have,, they certainly need to be more competitive than the 8s....

If it looks like that i'll be well chuffed so will the misses it will go with the samsung 32 we've got

Best box ive had. Dont relate to the big brother/sister boxes.

This little babys never let me down once.

Plus i do all my recording streaming through networking.

Its a lovely looking receiver, but I would be surprised if its under 250-300 Quid and I suppose if the 500 is been updated with a LED Screen and Broadcom Processor the DB600 will surly follow, I for one will bee looking into buying this one once I see some more Specs....

I hope it takes E2 .... But im sure support such as ECMs and Cccam will start falling off after a short while for the present models to boost sales and knock out clone Dreamboxs that have annoyed Dream over the past few years...

from what was said the othere day when this came out there would be two receivers the 500 and 7020 i think well in the post i seen it said 702x so it could be the 7020 or 7025 not sure but im sure we will know soon also i was talking to max at sms and he said there would be def two units but said he could not say any more as dream would not say but said it would be good what they plan

just been over on the i-had forum were one of there members was at the show today and he has put these pictures up of the new 500hd it even has a hdmi socket on it this time

also this list of what there receivers have also the pictures are small here think they will need to be made bigger when i looked at them on there site they were a lot bigger i see it also has the same processor as the 8000 think it will run e2 as well and from the one of the post the guys made that was there he said it would be this year couple of months and the price would be 300 euro at to days rate that would be about 267 i think not bad

there talking about 300 euro about 260 and if they stick to that its not bad i would say this will bring dream some sales

It will of course because Im sure support will fade out for the present DB500 rather fast after launch in a bid to knock out the clone 500s, the new 500HD is to run on E2 so they can realy knock out the clones buy writing software to big for the ordinary 500s or increasing memory load on certain applications..

Gemini I am sure will lead the way by stopping all support for the present 500 and I suppose Cccam will follow by making 3.0.0 only work on 600pvr & 500HD and models above.....

We could be in the end game for the old Dreambox 500....

very nice looking and i could be tempted, been boxless for a while now and i refuse to pay £400 for the 800 so this could be ideal

I can see the Dreambox 600 PVR drop in price once this is launched as its around the same price without HD, It would be a marketing nighmare to have one HD and one thats not selling for around the same money, basically the 600 is the new 500 and the 500HD is a replacement 600 ....

Anyway it would look nice under the TV thats for sure.

so of the german forums are going mad over this new receiver and im sure it will do what it says on the box it even has the same processor as the 8000 it should be good and im sure worth the wait for most people

Yeah its got a broadcom chip (processor) used in distrabution hardware such as Tandburg, Arris communication both used in the distrabution of cable and satellit communications in much of Europe, of course it the best way of hacking a service when your using virtualy the same hardware Providers are using to distrabute the signals.
