It there a way to connect both the DM500C box and VM box on different tv's (in same household) and able to watch differrent programmes at the same time? If so, how?

You mean split the boxes into 2 seperate rooms?

Just use a standard 2 way splitter. Get some cable from maplins or other good stores and some connectors and bobs your uncle.

You can only view whatever package you have subbed on your vm box though.

I have my vm box in the room 4 the wife on the portable and my dm500 in the livingroom on the 32" samsung.

Perfect.

Hope this helps.

Depends where your feed comes in. I have my feed to the livingroom. Splitter then feed to dm then another 10m cable feed to the bedroom.

I didnt need a booster as my signal is pretty stong. I actually have to use an attenuator to weaken as to get some channles. But depending on the length of your split you may need a cable booster.

If its easier to split from the cable entry point in your house do it that way but mines was shorter from livingroom to bedroom.

Whichever way is shortest is the best in my own eyes.

The vm box does but the dm doesnt so there is no way of them knowing you have that box connected.

I have had mines running for 3 years now.

As far as I know this is not the case for the DM500c if you put the splitter in before your normal digital box and then run one cable to the original box and the other cable into the Dreambox then you will have the potential to get more programs on your Dreambox than your original digital box

Sorry Dreamer what i meant was the dreambox will get more channels but because theyre is a split doesnt mean to say that you'll get all on your VM box.

Sorry if i didnt explain it well enough.

No probs
It just depends how you read the line. It could be taken either way and I wasn't sure which one you meant and didn't want Andypandy getting confused.

If you route via the DB the VM box won't be able to get a IP address, which means no on demand stuff. As cgscott says it's best to split before the boxes.
