DREAMBOX 500 FOR CABLE

Help please when trying to connect my dreambox 500 via ftp program it keeps comming back with An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.

How can i get around this can i find out username of box and password as using root as user id and dreambox for password.

Any help connecting my box would be greatfully recieved.

How to Connect your Dreambox to your PC

Tried that mate already but keeps saying Status: Connecting to 192.168.1.24:21...
Status: Connection attempt failed with "EHOSTUNREACH - No route to host".

Not sure what this means my ip address of router is 192.168.2.2
Does this have to be the same as dreambox????

I have tried this with my basic knowledge but no joy i only want to swap the keys.

change the ip address of the dreambox to 192.168.2.xx (number of your choice = xx)

then connect using your ftp with that ip

Go to network settings page on dreambox.

DHCP - tick

Default Gateway - enter ip address of router

Save and reboot.

Go back into the network page to see what the ip is, the router will assign it an ip within it's range.

Use this ip in your ftp program to connect to it.
