Default Flashing a dreambox...

I have not got a DB yet but I can't wait to flash this good looking image into it. I have been doing a bit of reading and my head hurts a bit . Devilfish is it possible to flash Dk1.1 image via FTP?
I was just wondering out of curiosity.
Thanks for now

I have a 9 pin port in the back on my laptop that reads IOIO I guess this is the port I need to connect my null modem cable right?
I was checking for a null modem cable and I found this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Null-Modem-Ser...3A1|240%3A1318 but I am not sure if it's the right one as it says RS232?
Also is it possible to flash the DB by using the router and the standard ethernet cable instead of the null modem cable?

Whichever you feel is the easiest...

Telnet/ftp is quicker, although I've never had a problem or experienced any temperamental issues with flashing using this method. Flash Wizard Pro is temperamental for sure.

The manufacturers guidelines tell you to flash using dreamup and a null modem cable, I haven't had any problems using this method either.

I prefer telnet method because my box is always connected to my router anyway.

I guess I will see what I feel like doing when I get the DB.
Can you clarify my doubts about the null modem cable (link in my previous post). I am not sure if it's the cable I need or not. I think I would buy one of this anyway as I am bound to mess something up at some point and will need to flash the box with dreamup

To answer your query about the null modem cable on eBay, it looks suitable.

There are different types of serial interfaces (RS232, RS422 RS485 etc.) but the most common one is RS232 and this is the one that is fitted to the Dreambox and is most likely to be the one fitted to your laptop.
