I have been trying to FTP some files to my dreambox, 1 major query i have is does my laptop need to be connected to the dreambox & the Internet or connection to the dreambox only?

Are there any good FTP programs (free), the one I tried first (flashfxp) makes my laptop bring up an error message (can't run on this version of windows???)
I then downloaded ftp editor 4 which, works well but it's $50 too much.

I keep getting an ENETUNREACH error when connecting my laptop to my dreambox any solutions?
