I will not recommend you to buy DM500C-II as this is not a dreambox product which mean you cannot do much. Altot cardless too but you are not able to program it yourself as well as this is still using the old 2 digit numbering.

bro am thinking of getting the DM500ii, can it really work in Sillypore, without any card...thanks for clarification bro.

Yes... Freq are the same no matter what box you are using.

Please note that the range are 306mhz to 698mhz.

using dreamup to reflash does not require any password & will reset the internal flash memory based on the new image. The ccam will be overwrite.

Any module you buy (i.e: card, cardless or card sharing) you are still able to reflash the box to whichever module you want.

1. Can I just reflush with one of the gemini image through dreamup if they are using ccam even they lock up the set with password?
2. I should buy only cardless model. Will it works if i have done step 1 above on card or card sharing module?

Yes..,. You can if you know how to.

You can also use your card king for DM900C but I think you need to re-config the box set of the card to use on DM900C. You can try using it on DM900C before re-config to make sure it is the same box set. If it work after you change channel on DM900C-II then you need not re-config.

I have a "card king" which come with DM800HD, but I had convert the DM800HD to cardless. Is there away to use the "card king" on my DM900c? Appreciate if someone can help to provide some pointer on how to achieve that if possible. Thanks in advance.

All DM500 have a label on the bottom of the box with the serial number as well as mac ID.

We have been talking about DM500C & you know we are using Cable instead of Satelite so I do not know what is your question about.

There is another model call DM800HD. As already mention in the thread many many many time, both set backup are of different extension so you are not able to use the DM500 image on DM800 & vice versa.

I am in Singapore. I bought a DM500 (not Dreambox) from a shop that is able to watch all SCV Cable channels in SG, with auto update encryption keys.

I wanted to buy another box to clone the firmware. I had all the cables already, RS232 to USB xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Not sure what box to buy, DM500C or DM500S. It is not labeled on my current box. I am quite sure it should be DM500C since we are using cable. Can you help? Do you know where can I buy this box?

Also, the current box are unable to view HD channels.

Are there any boxes that I can use to watch HD channels? And is my cloend firmware able to work in them too?

I am good in ssh-ing ftp-ing in my box and understand linux. Can you please help to direct me?

i'm new in learning about this equipment so apologies for the repeating questions.

there's only one sticker infront that says BlackBox 500, no mac/serial label at the bottom . Anyway you had helped me confirm what i'm using is C, thanks. the shop i'm talking about does not exist anymore so I have no contact to get another set. As for HD, maybe i'll try in future after i successfully clone my current one.

This is their way doing buisness mark down the box,mark up the account in the end come to the same you have to pay..But her service is very friendly..for me price, quality and company honesty in the end i dont buy from her..is important when dealing products in China..just my worth 2cents advice..cheers

Yes, spoken to Janly and I also didn't purchase from her finally. I ordered a set from another company but a small issue on the provision of built in cpu cooling has upset me.

I noticed that there are two other china companies do provide built in cpu fan in their package after placing my order, so I sent an enquiry email out to clarify if this is in the package to my seller. The reply is positive. I immediately followed up with another email, quoting my order number reference and asked the same question again. Now the answer is "Oh, cpu fan is an option". This is a minor incident but the most important issue is the product must be reliable.

Is it important that when we buy the Dreambox, we should always opt for the latest bootloader e.g. go for BL76 instead of BL72? Just wonder will the image file also carried the BL software that can update any version of the BL inside the existing STB?
