Some of us are not as IT smart as despdan..

Some of us are not as lucky as to google find where this Magic Automatic key updater in some other forum...

But 1 thing for sure.. despdan helped us when we are lost... and don't know how to slove our problem.. he didn't even get angry with us. and he is still very helpful..

I don't know about you.. But hardwarezone is very very huge, and i don't have any luck finding such a post yet..

Dear wonderfulbox, Kindly request if you could point us to where the magic key is? or at least give us info on which category to look under.. Thank you kindly in advance..

Hmmm...this image is good to a certain extent. Every month the keys have to be updated. If no keys, image is useless. sxxxhub changes keys every month. This will make you piss big time if you are watching ur favourite channels half way and cannot get hold of keys immediately.

In singapore hardwarezone, there is this guy who has a autoroll keys image. That image will auto update keys when sxxxhub changes the key every mth. That is the ultimate! some of the folks there use the image since last yr and no updating of keys at all!

I don't know what is your purpose in ranting about the image that despdan has provided. He is already doing SG friends here a big favor by sharing with us what he already knows, and patiently helping us out whenever we encounter problems. Autoroll or not, despdan is under no obligation to provide a working image. He's only contributing to the community by sharing his knowledge, and not charging any fees for it. If you feel that his work can be improved, just share your knowlege here, instead of criticizing someone's hard work and effort.

I have 2 images that will get keys in different ways but they will also KILL THE BOX if you make one wrong step. So I don't post them because I don't want to KILL anybodies box.

I will not post anything that will KILL anybodies box.

One of the Images will only need DreamUP the other will require Jtag.

new image kill your box???? wat a crap.

You never hear what gemini images can do to these boxes? It don't take much to do the same thing.
Both of these Images check the mac address of the box if it don't match it will kill the box.

When was the last key roll for SG S***RH*B?

We did not face any problem using the image provided by DESPDAN. We have been using his image for about 2 months. Did not face any 'blackouts'!!!

DESPDAN your image works well for us. Ignore the digs from him...suspicious.

wonderfulbox...come on despdan is here to help and he helped willingly. Providing advice for such newbies like us who does not know much. He is pretty busy cos we have beem pm'ing him many times for advice and he responded without fail with good advice and methods to solve our problems. If you really have such a good image, SHARE it here.

I'm suspicious of wonderfulbox. So far, he's only been ranting about the image that despdan had provided. Without contributing any useful ideas, and yet boasting how "great" his image is, he's only an empty vesel making the most noise.

Let me guess. He's probably a trader agitated by the fact that despdan had come up with a simple working image for Sg users.

despdan is the best...help us alot. the image is good man...but as I said before, the keys will expire. Anybody knows how to generate keys? I still cannot find an answer.

I got a box from a guy in sing which comes with autoroll keys. However, the box is protected with password, can't even get in to pull out the image. It has been working well, keys never expired. But got to get the box from him which is expensive. The best is to get the image with autoroll keys...anybody has it?

Wonderfulbox, you are right about expiring of keys but if you have the autoroll image, you can share with us.

A friend of mine face that problem on that day in May when they rolled keys, his was 'blackout' but I can still see all channels.

So I gave him my image for him to flash.

Does it come with Tuxcom? Maybe you can reset the root password as described in Coretan » Reset Dreambox root password.

One of my friends here has such a box too. It performs a check on a valid mac address, and if none is found, execute the following

eraseall -q /dev/mtd/5

I'm steering clear of such unethical traders.

I'm sure by pulling our efforts together, with the help of all the knowledgeable guys in this forum, we can work towards building an autoroll image ourselves.

not easy man...I checked with guru despdan few months back, he also cannot generate keys and cannot create autokey image for s***hub. Use Dreamup to make a backup

I have two boxes, one with autoroll keys which will not have problem, another one with despdan image which will die pretty soon. S***hub going to roll out keys soon.

Keys are no problem i can usally get them

the box that AUs have you tuxbox commander on it?
Can you ftp to it?

despdan, wat do you need to make sure that the autokey works? we can help you to gather info since we are here.

I just tried dreamup but just cannot connect to the box. The box is kind of strange. ftp ok but password protected. I tried root and dreambox...no luck.
