ya bro I agree, so many problem for 500c from China supplier don't know if 500+ have the same issue but so far no clone for this model correct me if i'm wrong but it all depends on supplier so far my supplier i recommend to some bro's here have no issue hope they can maintain it.
Bro actually i need your help & advise on Picon issue i can't seems to correctly convert jpeg format to png can i know what program u use & the correct setting actually it's for my satellite reciever i know this is not the place to ask for satellite issue but hey same reciever Dreambox & it's my favourite HD box

Those ebay purchase units under USD$20 are generally clones using OEM or third party PL2303 chipset.

Prolific from Taiwan, who made the original dongle, prevent these clones from using its drivers and placed some checks in the driver installation, and these clones will not work.

Luckily the clones makers do provide some forms of drivers, generally work for WinXP. If you got the older batches, probably would not have the drivers for Win7.

Thats why some folks had issue with these clones.

A piece of advice, try to download all these similar drivers and install via trial and errors.

Do take note that u would need to reboot on each driver installation, and removal before installation of next driver.

My 2 cents worth..

Just curious

Have anyone use a internet dongle together with usb serial adapter + null cable on your laptop and flash your box before?

Does the network flash on dreamup works in this kind of setup?

1) Flash the box with this image provided.
2) Connect the box with internet & go to plugin by pressing yellow button on remote control & to run online update key as well as online update channel.

Important Note: Please note that telnet/ftp password have been changed to protect the host link. Please do not ask me for the password.

before that what images r u using next time backup your var folder 1st too bad if u flash this images no more FTP for u this is what happen when u don't reeeeead

Dream-Up will flash image in under 3mins if you USE NETWORK.
Select correct com-port as normal
Enter Dongle IP in Local IP (PC/IP) window
Enter Dreambox IP in REM IP (box/IP) window
Ignore USE ONE window
Usually better to manually set Dreambox/IP & disable DHCP

yeah if using the rs232 only to transfer a 45mb image to the dreambox, it will take close to 45mins.

if network is used, less than 20 secs.

i mean a dm800 image, dm500 images would be faster.

For those using FERRARI SIM, you guys have to use FERRARI FILLER to clear your mess!

Took 2 days off from the box, I'm still fixing it. LOL, gonna try a new method.

I'm like having the same problem!

Uploaded the BOUQUETS, FTPed the KEYS and SCCE to usr folder.
Downloaded the mgcamd 1.31.

But when I do the automatic scan, says tuner problem! How do I determined whether I'm using the correct type of box sia. I'm like 75% there liao.

What i meant is that the usb to serial convertor does it support WIN 7. LOL.
