DM500c hv a reputasi of poor tuner recepsi. WRONG!!
Philips tuner hv gud reputasi but it (DM500C) inherent design faulted the stability of feed voltage to tuner.
The 5v after the switching is unstable, so, the recvd chn will b pixelated. Can do a patch only by opening the box. THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

C422 to 1000uf(25v)
C705 to 1500uf(10V) and
C707 to 1000uf(10v) usaully helps. D increased filter value provides a more levelled ripple. (flatuasi volt cos flatuasi freq which cos pixelasi.)

Some with a higher 12v 4 or 5amp Powersupply also may help, this I was told. DM800C with Bootup problem (somtime boot somtime only fan spin symtom) can use a higher Amp PS t2. I hv tested dis funny theory and found dat it works.

Bro, if u use dreamedit.
at "Option" select 'satellite' and 'SAVE' , select "Browse" bouquet E1, then u transfer to DM500c. finis Reboot.
Never click 'from DreamBox'.
If u hv from Dreambox files pls delete them or transfer to other folder away from DreamEdit program.
Only E1 file in DreamEdit.

Hi Bro flyer, thanks for the good work. Much appreciated. I am using your older image for both my 800HD and 800SE sets cos yours can display CHINESE EPG!!!!

Can i ask it this image can do that do? Ie display chinese epg?

Can any kind bro "transcribe" it into an image for 800SE too? Think last round Bro YPVS did that, and i could get chinese EPG on 800SE too.

I having been trying dreamboxedit that i nearly give up but finally managed to resolved. First of all launch dreamboxedit-open the file that u want to edit. Double click on the services you want to edit. From there u can you can change the channel number and services name as well. Click save and then u go. This is how i do it. Hope this can help.

nope, this doesn't support chinese EPG.

FYI the image i posted last time was from freedmx.net. It's modded by some chinese guy to display the second chinese EPG. i just modded it to be usable in SG.

YPVS bro posted the se version of it from the same guy.

i tried it on many images but unfortunately it's out of my league as there's a need to change the source code.

so... sorry no chinese EPG on this one.

Maybe you can go to their forum and ask the original author to do it for us.
