Just gone through s**t today with all my NO CA FOUND problem. Finally gotten it settled.
A word of advice for newbies like me, you will require 2 things if you have no com port like my comp:
1. A null modem cable
2. A usb to rs232 cable (Get those with a software included to change set your com port to the USB port, NOTE THAT THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS PLUG AND PLAY USB to RS232.
Just my 5 cents worth, hope this helps!![]()

yup my channels also got messed up after uploading the latest service files from bro astrobox, anyone can offer help to rectify? thanks in advance
Using Master AstroBox's you hv to set Dreamedit to SATELLITE and "SAVE" . Only transfer files to DreamBox, discard old Bouquet. Np loading, dont use default, it will mess up chns.
hi Astrobox,
Just to confirm the procedure :
1) Download your files
2) Open Dreamedit and load your files, Select satellite and "SAVE"?
3) Transfer files to Dreambox
4) Reload settings and Hard reboot.
Do I need to delete original current bouquet files in STB? If so, how do I delete the original file before sending your new files in?
TIA!
There are many variant of USB-to-serial devices, and many is based on the PL2303 chipset.
So far, I am very happy with the ones I am using.
I had opted for a USB-to-serial with attached cable, and as for null-modem, I prefer to use the rare mini null-modem adapter, and this resolved the long cabling issue.
I find the short-dongle version of USB-to-serial device much troublesome to plug-into PC with USB port space constrain.
And best thing, I got all this combo for about SGD$12, cost slightly more than a short dongle + a null-modem cable, which usually about SGD$10 (SGD$6 + SGD$4).
My 2 cents worth.

Manage to flash my dm500 yesterday got all the channels.. But however after flashing my mom's set also (dm500) some of the channels went black screen and some like small squarish screen..signals are all there.. Only black screen according to my mom.. Have yet to reflash..is this due to faulty set box? Does reflashing helps in this matter?
pl0xxx. the steps:
1) Try erase & reflash (will PM you for more details, wholesale copyright from others who have help me)
2) Looks like Dreamup 1.3.3.1 cannot work if your router have problem.
The trick:
a) You need a NULL 9-Pin Female-to-Female cable. (Becareful, there is another straight cable 9-Pin,... tell the seller at SL that you need a NULL 9Pin F-to-F cable, they understand)
b) You need a "Crossed" Cat5 cable. Now try this trick to cheat DM500C:
Connect your crossed cat5 cable to your PC Lan (internet) jack (instead of router). This is provided u use USB mobile broadband, and it has to be connected online when you start DreamUp
Click "Use Network" box at DreamUP,....
Your box & DreamUP should be able to talk,....
