If you have a NAS at home, you can do that as well. Find the sticky thread for the HowTo.

BTW, someone mentioned that running the laptop harddisks 24x7 is bad. I agree. But I know that the DM800 spins down the harddisk when it's not in use after sometimes.

Totally agree but I think overkill liao. Just hv the sata wire extended out of the box to HDD with or without casing is good enuf.

Yes, and agree. Then, again, if you have young kids, leaving the HDD exposed might be a problem.

Thanks everybody!!! Used a external usb drive and the hang issue during playback has been resolved. Internal hdd is not the best option for dm800 pvr

i'm flashing my dm800 hd and it has been stuck at 10% for a long time, is it normal?

im flashing OpenPli2.1-dm800-09042012-SSL-84b

my set is bl82 sim 2.01 pls help thanks

Flash with new SSL 84b first then flast the image again. The image you use need a SSL 84b.

If using web browser, flashing takes less than 5 mins.

Was recommended to this site. I bought my dreambox from an online store, and am learning to have fun with the set. My first task is to determine if it's a clone set.

I had both DM500 and DM800.

All 500 E1 model is clone set Dream Multimedia did not produce this model anymore as for your 800 E2 if u bought it from China online store is a clone set also cost around less than US $150 default Gemini images 2.5 ssl 82 - 84 sim 2.01 or sim 2.10 hope this can help u

but the box dhcp damn long no ip come out...

Are u using web browser for flashing on yr first attempt? If u did not complete the flashing and abort it midway, u need to use dreamup to flash.
