OK thats fine. Start from the start then. Use serial cable and connect to box with it powered off.

Then start dreamup v. whatever.

And communicate with the box..

I note a few people have the same problems when using dreamup. Follow the instructions to the letter and you should be fine. Make sure "use network" option is unchecked.

Jimmy I am sure you have tried this but make sure you do everything in order

1) Disconnect ALL the cables from your Dreambox
2) Plug one end of the null modem cable into your PC (into a COM port)
3) Plug the other end into the back of the Dreambox
4) Load DreamUp on your PC.
5) If it appears in German, switch the language by pressing Language -> English
6) Select which serial port you are using from the drop-down menu.
7) Make sure “use network” is unchecked
8) Press connect.
9) Now plug the Dreambox into the mains and make sure it is switched on. If
everything is working right you should get a blue progress bar appearing within a
second or two. After the bar finishes, you should have the message “Box attached and
ready” beside status. You are now ready to flash. (one thing to note here is that the
first version of DreamUp I tried did nothing at this point, I had to update to the newer
version for this to work)
10) Press the flash button and select the image you want to flash to the box.
11) Select yes (“Ja”) when asked if you want to perform a flash-erase during the
process
12) The flashing process will now begin

on the dreamup prog you should see an option to change serial port [top left]
on the drop down menu try each option. or if you know how to look in device manager to see what comport the null modem cable is on, then change the dreamup option to same.

Hi
Have you looked in device manager to see if, and which Com ports are alloocated?, and if several are, have you tried all these in dreamup's dropdown box? Finally can you try it on another PC with a 9pin Com port?
UPDATE: Sorry alliv, you beat me

dont exactly know, but i tried to flash with dcc, and selected usb as well, so as far as i understand, i flashed it and the box thought there was a usb to boot from, hence got so far and restarted, over and over again.

so like i said i used flashwizard, i did try that before but it didnt work, i think that i might of had the ip wrong,

but anyway thats the end of the problem, time or another
