Default VLC doing my head in.....work damn you

I have tried about 7 different versions of VLC, I ended up getting it to stream once on the latest version but when I changed channels it froze and now doesnt work at all, I only get that damn traffic cone now.

Anyone got any helpful tips.

BTW...web x tv is just a black screen.

I've never understood why VLC will work one minute and fail the next. Sorry m8!

Same problem here m8. I ended up using Stream Me and it works perfectly on a Commando 10 image. The programme does not have all the utilities that VLC has but you can watch and record.

Edit : Just noticed this is not a dbox thread , sorry m8

I'm afraid the same thing happening here. I can get video once i switch of the dbox from the mains and power back up. But then it only works for 1 or 2 channels then it shuts down my internet explorer.

but i'm going to give the stream me prog a go.

For the dbox I found dboxTV or NeutrinoTV quite good for streaming......when it worked....

Did you manage to get any further with this and get it streaming? I can't get it going at all, and I too have tried many versions...

No m8 its still pissing me off. I do formats on a regular basis and evrytime I install VLC it works 1st time, but if I change channel or close and restart it doesnt work. I don;t really need it but would have liked the option. I just gave up.

Heheh. Fair enough. I've tried and tried myself, but I can't get it going with VLC. I did stumble on a post about FISCstream and that seems to work fine. It's really easy to get going and does what its meant to straight away. Nice for watching the rugby/footy in the corner of PC whilst surfing etc...
