d box screen jams

hello out there, my problemis with adbox2 which is jamed.About 1month ago my son stated to flash the commando10 through a x cable , NULL MODEM CABLE. Everything was going well for about ten mins then everything froze.AS it stands now you can not use the remote [does nothing], try ifa the image to thed box it does not speek to the box.Have tried unplugging d box[2days] but it is still the same,also done a soft reset a the front [hold in up button press on then release] but still the same.can anyone please help i have looked all through the sites for a month or more and cant find anything the same thanks baba.

you could try the hyper terminal way of doing it ....its for boxes not responding to ifa or ftp

try a different image, there is a new one that come out on the 1st march, im sure its prob something simple

Ifa will defo get that box going mate
Try a differant version of ifa
Make sure your speed is 10 half duplex in config settings..Paul

try the portable version of ifa seems to work good with tricky boxes

thanks to everyone who gave addvice.What i am trying is ,new commando 10 image and ifa with hyperterminal.I can get as far as the start of part 2 on the guide./that is connect null modem cable ,reset d box, try to type in di800000 press enter.THATS it stuck nothing happens.Tried changing null cable to each of the 5ports,still the same.what i do notice is that when i do a reset on front[lcd] i dont get the same screen as shown ie no dbox root at bottom,and i can only get 5black boxes on screen not 6 as shown.REMEMBERthis box is stuck /if you switch on,let it boot it starts to load the old commando ,team commando will appear on the screen and it just stays ,will load no furthur.Can anyone help i would be very greatfull thanks baba fyffe.

You will confuse matters mate
All you need to get that box going is a crossover and Ifa
Check your duplex speed in Config it needs to be 10 half
Or Auto to run Ifa correctly......................Paul

hi everone thanks to every one who helped before.I HAVEnow tried to flash a new commando image using ifa flash with hyperterminal. What happens is that i get as far as connecting the null modem cable,doing a reset of the box ,typing in di800000 but nothing happens. What i notice is that the lcd screen shown in the guide is not the same.Myscreen does not show dbox root at the bottom and will only show 5black boxes not 6 as shown in the guide THIS is the box that stuck when my son was flashing the new commando image.Now when you boot up the box it will go as far as say team commando then just stay there Laptop want speak to it and the remote does not work ither one more thing is am i correct in notusing a xover cable and joined to tv by a scart when using hyperterminal.CANanyone come up with a solution.please baba fyffe

if not connect the null and run Bootmanager
And post the log

Is your null-modem cable connected to a genuine rs232 Serial COM1 port on the PC, or are you using a Serial to USB adaptor?

If your PC doesn't have a proper serial port, then use IFA Portable 3.1 - which works fine via a x-over ethernet patch cable only. But your PC needs to be XP or above for this applet to work.

I dont quite understand what your saying. Are you trying to use IFA and hyperterminal at the same time. Or are you just using the one.

HELLO EVERYBODY I AM STILL STUCK TRYING TO FLASH A D BOX 2. THIS IS THE ONE THAT HAS JAMMED[LCD] AND YOU CAN NOT SPEAK TO IT .What i havedone is got ride of my laptop and used my pc.when i try and flash,i get an error report/100048in funtion bing address already in use.then when i give it another go it comes up FEHLER command length incorrect.DOES anyone no what the problem is please let me know,i have tried a few different verions of ifa but i cant get anything to work thanks baba.
