Question NOKIA DBOX2, HELP REQUIRED TO FLASH THE BOX

Hi,

I have a nokia dbox2, and I have 2 images for it Blade Quad, and Lakys Sylas
I am not sure which one is best for the box, on Laky it says FTA so I am not sure whether I can use IFA to flash that image.

So here is the detail of what I am doing:

- I set my pc's IP to 192.168.1.8 as my Dbox's IP is 1.9
- I am using null modem and normal ethernet cable
- Both null modem and ethernet cable are plugged in to the box
- I run the IFA and select the image to flash and then click on Start
- It gives me a warning about me PC having more than one processors
- After that it asks me plug in all the cables and then plug the power
- So I plug the power in and press ok on the popup and it runs the process
- On the main screen on the bottom right i get the message DBOX2 Pinging Failed.
- If I click on settings the ip for dbox it shows as 192.168.0.202
-I have tried manually changing the 0.202 to the ip of the box which is 1.9 No joy
- I have tried changing my ip to 0.201 but still no joy
- Also previously I was told to use Filezilla to upload the ngrom7 in the var/keys folder, I have tried but when I drag and drop the file in to keys folder I get an error 'Critical Error' and the file goes to Failed Transfer attemp.

I can only view BBC and free to air channels on my box, I have got Laky Pro 1
installed previously. Your help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure firewall/anti-virus is turned off if you are not sure about the crossover cable use the one that came with your modem!

after changing ip on dbox save and re-boot

i have sent you a patched image to help you.

just read some of the great tuts here and you will be ok

Hi

I must admit this is proving to be much more complicated than I thought it would be
about 8 months agao I flashed the box with no issues at all, and now it just doesnt seems to work at all.

I am connecting the box using Null Modem and Crossover cable, and then I run the software, the ip of the box is 192.168.1.9 I change my PC ip to 192.168.1.8 yesterday
I connected to the box with the same settings using Filezilla, and now I cant even connect using the filezilla, Although yesterday I was using normal ethernet cable not the crossover, but today i have tried both of the cables. Also my Firewall is turned off as well when I do that.

I dont understand what is wrong, I have read all the guides and followed the instructions
but still no joy. also my dbox LCD is stuck on LAKY PRO....LOADING... the screen doesnt move from there any idea ?

Hi there,

I have been trying last night and been trying all day today but still no Joy, I am not sure
what to do. Let me give you more details once again as to what I am doing.

-Right now I cant change anything in the box as the box is stuck at main picture of Laky Pro-1 'The thunder and lightening picture' and on the LCD of the box it says Loading...
Doesnt move from there at all, So I cant get in to the system menu or anything.

-couple of days ago I checked the ip of the box it was 192.168.1.9
I tried changing my PC's IP, Default gateway and DNS to 192.168.1.8
didnt work then I tried 192.168.1.10, still no joy, on the IFA screen when
I click on stop It shows the DBOX IP as 192.168.1.202, So I have tried to manually
change it to 192.168.1.9 didnt work, then I tried to change my PC's ip in to 192.168.1.201 still no joy, Filezilla is not working either as the Box doesnt move from
LAKY PRO-1 LOADING... status clearly the image has been corrupted but I am having
some major problems reflashing I have read all the guides and followed the exact instructions, If you would like I can send some screen shots to you guys maybe that will help? CAN SOME ONE HELP PLEASE....

you need to download a copy of IFA and flash with that using the crossover cable. you dont need to access the file menu in the box with IFA, just give you pc a static ip (i use 192.168.0.200) set to 10 half duplex, only enable th network card you are using, turn off fire walls and antivirus (including windows standard).
run IFA, select your network adapter from the drop down menu in IFA (there should only be 1) then select your image. you will now see a prompt asking if you are using a null modem cable, it makes no difference if you are or not but obviously tell the pc if you are or not. then start the flash. what i do at this point is maximize one of the minimised icons which alows you at the top left to specify the dbox ip, i input 192.168.0.100 then press start. NOW plug in the dbox not before. it doesent always work first time but it will go eventually.
