Default Nokia DBox2 wont flash with IFA, HELP!!!

Hi all.

I've just aquired a Nokia DBox2 but it's stuck at 'loading kernel' display on the lcd screen.

I've tried flashing it with IFA with no joy.

I've done 3 boxes before, all Sagems, and they took images no trouble but this Nokia seems stubborn.

I've tried lots of different images but it won't budge.

Is it beyond saving or is there anything else I could try?

IFA log below...

Ok, I'll do that.

I got a Null Modem Cable but it's double ended female and my laptop is female connector too.... Plus.... I'm on Vista which doesn't have Hyperterminal any more but I have been able to download it.

Off to Maplins I go to get me a female to male convert plug...

I had the same problem with a null modem cable/cossover cable. I got a cable from cablestar 8 pound deliverd. it came in a day. USB to null modem coz i have a laptop with no comm port. It came with converter. I had problems in VISTA so i used XP. Then i used IFA potable. I tried a different image. worked on second attemp twice then. Before i was trying 50 times or more. Good Luck man.

Hi guys.

I got IFA to work through my router, it wouldn't work through my pc, so I've now got an image.

Another problem is now after setting my location to scan, I get no transponders through fast scan.

I have a Sagem wich doesn't have any trouble scanning.

I've gone direct with no splitters on the feed but no joy.

Signal booster needed or anything else anyone could reccomend?

Thanks

Think I'm gonna ftp my working service files and Bows across as I think the tuner is on the way out.

I've put Commando 10d, Sportster ultra, Blade Quad and Trinity all say same thing, no transponders found.

The SNR is 53000 on my Nokia Dbox and it's 64000 on my Sagem.

Might buy one of them boosters from Argos too and if no joy, I'll return booster to Argos and sell Nokia on ebay with faulty tuner.
