| Junior Member | I started looking at this thread created by Pt-1 from another site and thought it may be interesting to carry this on here and get more interest in it (other site shut for now). It allows any website video to be browsed and viewed (in a way) from the dBox, Youtube and Apple video trailers seem to work best at the moment. Follow the guide below and when installed the apache server uses scripts written in php to decode the websites and show the info on the dbox, then the apache server interface picks up the code and opens it in VLC. VLC then turns it into Mpeg and sends it to your TV via the dbox. (or, in short, pick and watch YouTube and other videos or on-demand services on your tv without having to sit at your PC) Original post thanks to Pt-1
Go to Movieplayer > File via VLC > A list of website will appear (mostly German) > Press Right Arrow on the one you want to see. A blank page will seem to open (like you are looking for files) to see them turn the filter off (blue button on remote). Use Right arrow to enter the folder Left to Exit and OK to play the video and home to exit video. It may say buffering for a few seconds and then start playback (may be green to start). Quality is dependent on the website and way it was encoded so don't expect amazing quality on your 40" TV when it was recorded on a camera phone! The scripts are located in C:\xampplite\htdocs\requests\scripts\ and can be edited (I changed YouTube into English for example) using Notepad++ (here). BBC on demand is not working but as I said at the start I am putting this thread up to generate interest and hopefully create some new php files for the UK. Some ideas for new scripts are: MuVids MTV Fox Universal ITV On Demand You can also watch live video streams..... The possibilities really open up what can be done with the dbox and it may also work with the dreambox. Enjoy.

| Top Poster | Heres a handy little website for translating. It will also translate full web pages too apparently. Yahoo! Babel Fish - Text Translation and Web Page Translation its pretty accurate at translating german. |

Open the debug interface (C:\xampplite\AdminDebug-Interface) and check that all is well with the Apache server, when you click on the movie title you should get the link of the movie file (like http://movies.app**.com/movies/param...teen_h640w.mov) STU666: Tried babel fish many times but it will not work with the tuxbox forum, it is handy for other sites, thanks.
