Unhappy Hardware problem - USB mouse

    Hi all.

I have a weird problem with my PC: Since a few months ago, my mouse will start acting up, what I mean is, everytime that I click on something, the click will turn up into a double-click or even a triple-click.

I thought at the beginning that it was a physical problem, you know, like suffering from w/e makes you move your fingers faster than usual. But then for some unkown reason, it will go back to normal, and the clicks would be ok.

I'm sure that it is a hardware problem and not a personal one, due to never having this issue at work. Oh, and no, I'm not usually drunk at home, so that's isn't the reason either.

Anyway, a couple of months ago, I bought an UPS because I thought it was a power problem: If I disconnect the mouse, and then when trying to reconnect it, if the the usb plug touches the case, you can hear a noise through the speakers like that of sparks.

So I'm really worried about this, the UPS didn't fixed the problem. Could it be a driver problem with the USB devices, or plain simple that my cheap mouse is crap and I'd better buy a better mouse?

Any thoughts would be really appreciated.

    Cheers

Thanks. I'll try grabbing a cheap one and use it for a few days to see how it goes. If the problem is solved, and the cheap mouse is not comfortable enough, I'll get a nice MS one, that's something they actually do well.
