hi guys using xp home my speakers stopped working tried everthing under the sun but they wont work ahhhhhhhhhhhh all the media players r picking them up but no sound checked everthing including drivers and speakers all fine in other pcs any help sound card is ok as well

try going into bios on startup by either pressing del or one of the f keys on start up. Have a look around and you should see onboard ac97 or soundchip etc... make sure it is enabled. f10 to save once you have checked and rebbot.

have you installed microsoft uaa if this software is not installed you won't get any sound.all new mainboards now require the software.
