I was going to ask if my ip adress was normal but other threads have lead me to belive i just change the ip adress on my dreambox to similar to my pc.
im i right in thinking then if my pc is 192.168.1.1 all i need to do is make the new one 192.168.1.x
if im right sofar so good but when i un tick the DHCP then change the numbers i cant seem to save them. So how do i save them.
aslo what do i change my nameserver and my gateway to.

I am assuming the sat dm and cable dm work approx the same.

Ceck out DF stickie for connecting the dm which is below. To save it is usally green button. Its usually best to use dhcp and let the router assign the addy for you.

untick the dchp server,the nameserver and gateway is
what you have set up in your router then press green i think
to save

Thanks for the info. Im not conected via a router as yet (but will try soon) i am connected from pc to dreamboxvia crossover. But the prob is saving the ip, gateway settings on the dreambox. Ive tried the green button thats the obvious methon but when i go back to it its back to the 10.0.0.97 setting ive tried the green button then disconecting the power cable but that doesnt work.

If you're dreambox is not saving settings, do a factory reset or reflash the image and try again.
