Hi Guys

just a quick question,

has anyone bought a DREAMBOX 500C from dvbmonkey, as they are situated in china, can they be trusted?

if so would you recommend that i buy from them or not?

if you know anywhere else in the uk that i can buy from then that would be great.

I think members have bought from them, with mentions in certain posts can't remember where off the top of me head at the moment, if i remember rightly delivery took a little longer than expected but they did get their order, i'm not sure where their located but if it is china it will take a while,i'm sure if you look around you'll find a mention and a another member will probably be able to reassure you, as it happens i was thinking of buying from them so i will be watching with interest keep us posted.

dont buy from dvbmonkey m8 lots of peeps have had probs with them

500s arrived safe 10 days after ordering , got tracking number which matched up . came with DK 1.o plus evocam , works well . thanks everyone for great help found on this forum .

I spent a few hours last week comparing the prices from many sources including e*ay sellers and d-monkey and decided on linuxsat because they were in the UK and I could pay with paypal and the next day delivery was free (it actually took 2 working days but a lost faster than from Ch*na).
Plus I didn't have to worry about the possibility of customs duty which, if you get stung for it is compounded by the carriers fee for paying it, and if it breaks down, return to the supplier during the warranty period is a viable and inexpensive (postage) option.

Dont buy from them i had to get paypal involved after waiting nearly 2 months for my order and no response to emails or tickets from dvbmonkey but have used them before this and had a fast delivery but got sent by buythings.com think

Just got mine in under five to six day's im up and running and happy with them!!!!!!

Just received a DM500C, DM500S and a La Fonera - Wireless Ethernet Bridge this morning. Ordered on Friday, UPS attempted delivery Monday morning but reported nobody home. In theory it could have been next working day.

Anyway, 500C appears to be working fine.

When I turn on the 500S the green LED lights and nothing else happens. It does not respond to the standby switch or the remote control. No output from the scart or phono connectors. I just signed up here to see if there is anything I am missing such as boot up time...

The seal on the La Fonera box was open when I received it. The nut holding the RF antenna was loose. The instructions are in Chinese and Japanese.

I'll be contacting them in the morning to see what the story is. According to their terms and conditions I have to bear the cost of return to China. Wish I had read that earlier.

I'll let you know how this turns out...
