i am new to the sat side but i have managed to scan and get all the freeview sky channels but i knew that before i started i have also got a few more channels as well. reading between the lines and im sure someone will be along later that knows alot more than i do, the only way i believe to get them all is cardshare but i'm not looking to much for that at the moment cos i'm at the min in a cable area and get the sky channels from there but its an option should i need to like you move. it was thwe idea of having both within the 1 box that appealed to me and up to now im pleased with the progress ive made

Hi.. dont get a dreambox satellite box for Sky UK.. the encryption is to good.. The Dreambox Satellite boxes are best used to open European TV.. but this is getting smaller as channels update to better encryption, Nagra3 and NDS.. both are not open..

The only way left to open Pay TV without a subscription is to either buy an IP Box that connects to a server or cardshare with a dreambox.. both are topics that can not be discussed here..

Soon cable will be moving over to Nagra3 and boxes like the Eurovox etc will only open Free To Air channels on Virgin Media..

Nagra3 and NDS will never be hacked as broadcasters have lost millions to hacked and patched boxes in the past.. Nargra3 and NDS are virtually hack proof.

Default Hello could i use a bit of your experience please

Hi my name is mark and Have read your logs and you seem to be knowledgable on the subject of dm500 and i see your a user aswell. I am a complete newbie with a dm500s, sky tv and am in the process of seting up a 1.2m motorised dish. My problem is i have read dozens of newbie related articals and all have stated i need different software most of which are in a dozen different languages, if i may be so bold as to ask you which software you use and its location. I have a poor management program (which runs for 10 mins, claims not to be able to comunicate with anything and shuts down) VLC has conflict probs with other software i need but i have real/windows/adobe ect, flash wizard 6.3 and dream up are great. I hope you dont mind my directness but im fed up with downloading media files, sound editors and video converters that are either faulty, redundant or in greek. If its to time consuming i fully understand or is outside forum regulations my messanger and e mail are norton_m1@sky.com. many thanks. Mark

Do you really need to stream the dreambox to a PC..?? Is the first question i ask.. mine is connected to my TV and that works just fine..

Secondly i use.. DreamUP to flash and DCC (Dreambox Control Center) to log into my box and make any adjustments.. Thats it

Thirdly.. putting your sky mail address up is not a good idea, one for spamming purposes and secondly as its regsitered to you sky subscription account and now anybody from sky tv will have your details and presume you are about to look into sharing your subscription.. illegally..
