Life (or Elevator) picture was maybe taken in china, japan or korean. Here the number 4 is considered unlucky as, when said, sounds alot like the word for death.

Yeah, 4 is a pretty bad number for the Chinese, Japanise and I think Koreans. 14 is worse tho. 4 sounds like death but (iirc) 14 is "will die" or "certainly death" or something close to that. I had some stuff on it about here somewhere. But as i just moved to a new place, its in a box, 1 of many boxes. 4 or numbers with a 4 in are look upon as our western 13. But 14 is considered unlucky even by those who don't consider 4 or other numbers with 4 in to be unclucky.

On the other hand, 8 is very lucky.

Yes true, as is eight considered to be lucky, the Chinese pay more for anything which contains the number 8, phone numbers, addresses even apartments on the eighth floor fetch a substantial amount more just because they contain 8, look at the olympics when did it start 08/08/08......I personally think they are all barking....chuck
