meeting people off the internet

no, it's not an invite

since moving here the beginning of last month, i've met up with two women and their babies, on separate occasions, both I met on a mum and babies forum (and who are lovely). It was the first time i'd met anyone off the internet, but i think it was probably easier to do with the babies as it was a mutual interest...

Whats your opinion on meeting people from the internet? Is it a good way to meet new people, or are you just setting yourself up to be abducted/killed/ forced to join a cult/or a peado trying to steal your kid?

what are your experiences of it? Was it awkward? Would you do it again?

There's a football forum I'm on that members meet up once every year for 5-a-side tourny which has been going on for a few years now. No arguments or anything, just people from all clubs having a good laugh and taking the piss but in a funny way. We (probably about 50-60) just go to the pub after it for a deserved refreshing drink

I've met a few people from on-line forums. They were all female...it was a dating site so I'd be really p!ssed if a bloke turned up.

Only had one bad experience. People should learn how to describe their body type. 'Slightly over weight' does not cover everything from a few extra pounds to beached whale.
Still done the deed. Needed someone to test the new sex toys I'd made

Think the closest DK members to me are True Grit & a couple of the boro lads. Not been tempted to meet up with any of them yet.

Bet theres a few off here who can remember the msn chat rooms like grapevine 30s etc
I went on a few meets all over the country and i can tell you out of about the 40 who turned up 3 or 4 were normal.
Hardly any looked like their pics,most used older pics when they were younger and nearly everyone had the same things on their minds. Sex!
It was a shag fest
