yeah you do but the whole process is so much more less hassle and tbh with ssl encryption you cant go wrong

I can get everything off usenet at 790kb/s with no upload with ssl and i have a 7.6mb/s connection so the maximum I can d/l.

would never use any forms of d/ling method bar torrents for really old stuff maybe on occassion but only with private trackers.

I've been using usenet for a few years now.

I use Hitnews cheap price + very reliable

I would never use any other method to download unless for some unknown reason it wasent on usenet.

I was using hitnews for ages but then they moved me and a few m8s to xenews.com as it was costing them more money for international customers.

We may have been d/ling 200 gigs + a month

I tried the usenet method but could not understand it (needed a manual or something like that), as i had to pay for it it seemed just as easy and no hassle at all to use Rapidshare, which also costs.. Its just a case of what is easiest. When you want to download something do you really wanna go and spend a ages trying to figure out the usenet thing when nobody is willing to give any pointers to the noob. Too much lost time.

However if somebody was to produce a Noob's guide to usenet and nzbs i would happily have a crack at it..

Its really pretty straight forward M8 if, if you use newsleecher to download,
it'll do everything for you ie. download, repair and extract,
its just a case of D/clicking on your NZB file and waiting and as mentioned
you'll get your full download speed

Get a test account from hitnews.eu or xennews.com

Download alt.binz

put your server info into alt.binz

D/l winrar and quickpar. (all the newer versions auto repair and extract but if theres a problem you will need these)

Goto www.nzbmatrix.com / www.tvnzb.com / v3.newzbin.com or google usenet index.

Whilst on the sites above you will see stuff to d/l you then need to d/l the nzb (which is basically a torrent file for usenet).

VOILA - thats as basic as i can make a tutorial

I have usenet access. There's more stuff I want on rapidshare but I always use usenet if I can get what I want. It's far less likely to be someone's idea of a joke. I use usenext - the software is a doddle though it's more expensive than other access companies. The comments feature is very useful to assess the quality of the upload.

Usenet can't be beaten for speed, I use Ngroups.Net and pay £8 for unlimited downloads per month. Usenet for speed but other methods for greater choice.

I use Newshosting Unlimited at £80 a year but I use the wonderful Easynews Global 4 search engine to make my own NZBs.
Not a lot of Easynews subscribers know that it exists and are they missing out.
