Video Game Market in China?

Its me Jason from China. I have lived in china for over a year and a half now. Since I have been here I have seen many things. From beggars on the street to a baby for sale. One thing I have noticed is how Chinese have greed rooted into their hearts in a way that westerners can not understand.

When you go to china. the first thing you notice is how many mom and pop shops there are. Millions of them every where you look. That is no joke. you can ask anyone who has been to china. The Chinese believe the key to success is keeping secrets. So when you talk to most companies about how they operate, they will shut up like they sucked on sour candy. I think that way of thinking is counter productive as it just motivates me to figure it out on my own. After that I am just stronger having proper motivation and learned what i wanted to know. So I personally don't keep any secrets about business. After that I think the key to success is growth.

In growth you need to expand very fast. In Chinese society they usually can trust only family. That goes from the smallest market on the street to the the corrupt government. I think that is way so many baby girls are adopted out or killed in china. In Chinese society elder people depend on the children to provide for the retirement. As daughters are married into other families, They are to help her husbands parents more then her own after marriage. That is why china has the worlds only population that has more males then females. My best friend to this day was adopted. I personally would prefer adoption over having my own kid as it is the right thing to do. That thought is foreign in china. My wifes sister was traded for 200 kilograms of rice to be an arranged marriage or something like that.
But society is changing very fast in china and those things will be a thing of the past soon.

So in china they don't franchise. That is a crazy idea to most people here. But look at mcdonalds and kfc in china. They are the most successful restaurants in china. Even the knock offs of kfc and mcdonalds do well. I even prefer them since they are cheaper. other then that you have a boat load of foreign companies like walmart and 7-11 coming into china. and just applying their business model to the locals and they are racking in the cash.

didnt think that baby trading etc still went on in the world today

I am American and 23 years old. You know china has 1.3 billion people. I heard a person say that no matter what percentage it is, like 0.01% is still 130,000 people. You will always find someone somewhere that is like that. whether it be trading babies or collecting cow crap to sell to mushroom farmers.

Yea I was going to ask people that worked in Video game retail markets if they can share their experience with me. Then I kind of got started talking on this. So I will get back on topic or continue with my experience depending on what people want to talk about.

the great firewall of china is what you are talking about. only sites that are censored are blocked. so like Chinese sites hosted overseas that talk ill of the government and porn is blocked. but a lot of French Linux forums are also blocked.

most asian counties ban porn. Like korea and hong kong. really only japan and taiwan allow porn. You know in the Philippines they have cock fighting on tv but censor the sopranos. I still get porn because they don't that good of a job blocking it.

what would you like responses to? your thread is titled video game market and yet you have made no attempt to talk about video games in any way shape or form. even after i asked about it!
