Default Audi A8 1995, Auto Transmission error Code P020e

Hi all , Got another car to repair, its Audi A8 1995 year make.

The problem is that the doesnt shift to any gear, neither reverse. The only error code is:
Fault code Description Status
P020e No Signal Received

Could this be the problem? O it will be something else i mean mechanical?

Thanks, for your reply.

Cant rally say, the engine is 4.2 liter, the lever has all the positions, and the +- shifts. I think its triptronic.

This code is not displayed correctly. It's a 5-digit decimal code, which is displayed as a 4-digit hexadecimal code.
Recalculated you get for 020e(hex) = 0526 (decimal).
See: 00526 - Ross-Tech Wiki

Tip: Many Automatic Transmission Control Modules will show a DTC 00526 or 17087 that indicates a faulty brake light switch. This can be ignored and will not appear if you press the brakes once before checking for Fault Codes.

Thank you all for your, help.
Just one more thing to ask. When i have checked the first time for error codes, it had only two error codes. The first one was with the brakes related, and the other one was smth with multifuncition switch.
I can move the lever, to any position i like, on the dash i can see that gear indication is changing to the selected postion.

The car is not shifting to any gear. So could multifunction swith be related to this problem? Or it will be mechanical fault? If its mechanical related problem, i will give this car to the guy from the "next door garadge" to take it off the car.
