m8, you can`t use ELM327 with esitronic software. I think the BOSCH KTS is the best software for diagnosis.

ELM327 no good then, i have the Bosch ESI Software but no hardware just wondering if theres a cheaper interface that can run it other than the £2500 KTS?

Maybe you can find some cheaper to run with ESI tronic. You can search on e-bay for KTS550 or 540... ELM is good for beginers, but comparing to KTS it`s nothing.

You can use both ELM and KTS to work with some lappy.

With KTS you have various of options and more cars available to work. Scanmaster's software is about 10Mb and KTS software is database of 15GB. That almost says all the diference...

Elm is just generic OBD II/ EOBD, which covers the engine (basicly for emission control). Kts is for powertrain, At, Abs, SRS, Esp and a ton of other electronic controlled systems on a huge varity of brands and models. Bidirectional , coding, adaptation etc.

ha ha ha you are some funy guy..I work with esitronic since first kts introduce.."92-93..ESI tronic is made for KTS range of instruments,and you CANT replace that hardware with 15$ equipment..this is tools for profesionals.On my opinio its cheapest tool on world.you can start wit cheapest 540 (1500euro) hardware,software you can download from net and you are ready to go..you CANT code keys,or repair odometers..its not designed for this ..diagnostic tool for profesional,so IF you dont have at least 5 car per week you dont need it..in universal diagnostic kts is the cheapest and the best..I also have bb,carman and lot of interfaces like vag,can,opcom,carsoft.....elm ? no I dont need code reader its for kids

Yes you are right, Elm is for kids.

Question.... If you were using KTS since 92-93 you bust have been in touch with KTS500c. I have KTS550 and few weeks ago I have repaired old KTS500card. Do you maybe have any idea how much it worth now. I am thinking to sell it. Thanks!

If you want to cover many, many cars, so I think best way is KTS540 ot higer and ( if you want) Launch X431.
KTS is very powerfull tool for European cars, not too powerfull for Asian and American cars. Launch ( i do not have it yet) is more powerfull for Asian and American car then KTS. IF in your service comming many Mercedes cars, then you must buy MB Star diagnostic. There is not better diagnpstic tool for MB. KTS and Launch cover many system on MB, but not development mode or adaptation.

I work a lot with Launch tool as here in Mexico where i live you a got a unique mixture of cars from all over.overall it's pretty good and cheap for what it is capable. On european its superb, on asian pretty good and on domestics (americans) mixed emotions, Chrysler is very good (OEM-level), ford good and GM mediocre.
the communication is a bit slow, partially due to bluetooth.

The cheapest KTS module is the BOSCH KTS 530, but for £100.00 extra you can get the KTS 540. My personal preffered tool to use alongside the KTS is the Carman Scan Lite. I have sold an number of Carmans to KTS users and they all are very happy.
