Default Ford Focus - Steering Wheel removal and refitting

54 Plate. Focus, 1.6 Edge

How do i remove the steering wheel and will this affect how the air bag operates afterwards? Should i give it to a Ford garage or is it easy enough for a decent DIY mechanic.

Does anyone have a description of how to do it myself, if it can be done outwith Ford?
