Default Eurovov Max V 2008 stuck with standby and 4 green dashes flashing

I connected up my Eurovox Max v 2008 at a friends house and everything was fine and then I tried connecting with a splitter and V M box and now the standby red light comes on with the 4 green dashes coming off and on in a loop process. The Remote fails to send it out of this state so I am well stuck. It has the latest firmware and has been working fine for months. Has anyone any ideas as to why I cannot get it out of standby.

first try to reset the box by pressing the reset button on the main board inside.if that dosent work it may have blown the small 2amp fuse on the psu board inside m8 or check the c14 capacitor on the psu board to see if it is swollen.

check this out Digital Kaos - Downloads - c14 capacitor replacement

    Thanks for your reply.

Now here is my latest problem - held the reset button on the mainboard and did the trick in getting the box out of standby and enabled the remote to get the box to '0000' on channel display.

Now ive simply gone to do a Fast Install and Deep Scan and I am only getting 3 Transponders. I am in 6952 and the three channels are 643.000 , 667.000, 811.000.

I have double checked RF in so the connection is fine with no splitters and its coming in by one decent cable straight from the wall. I have had the box working from this cable for months without a problem. Somehow I need it to find the 38 channels and all im getting is a miserable 3 which doesnt give me any programs to mwatch anyway.

PS Checked Capacitors all seem ok - Box will now go off and on at mains plug and come back on at default time 12.00

    Q. will a factory reset mean the Box will need reflashing ? I have read here sthat some people have been unlucky and the Box is stuffed after factory reset and they wish they never tried it.

Q What does pressing the reset Black button on Mainboard do to the updated software on the Box - does it need reflashing after pressing the Black Reset inside the Box ?

Thanks for any help you can give me

factory reseting your box m8 will not affect the firmware on it, once you have done this check that the search ratio is set between 100.00 mhz and 850.00 mhz and using the correct sym rate .just try pressing the ok button to power scan and your first freq should come in after 125.00mhz

I am getting no channels ( transponders ) after many powerscans.

I have reset the max v to factory default and made sure that the symbol is 6.952 _ I have checked the RF in and am getting around 90% feed as opposed to 8% if I release the cable. I have made sure that no other item in the house is using the Cable - the only splitter is V*edias own splitter outside the house on the wall.

I am really at a loss to work out why I am not getting channels - previously I have been able to find channels without a problem.

Anyone got any ideas as to why it refuses to find them ?
