Whats your signal strength, press info twice to see, also try menu config ok on tv settings, make sure TV mode is set on Multi then save and exit.

My signal level and quality are both showing at 80% but the picture appears scrambled, so I'm thinking the problem must lie somewhere else and not the signal?

Is it possible the cable provider can block?

hi there ive been seeing alot of threads about the eurovox ex5000
and was wondering on what it works on such as virgin media,normal satellites or anything.
and what ill need because i was thinking of buying on for myself.



any help will be much appreciated.

you will need a cable connection and a null modem lead a pc and some firmware from here then you are ready to go

its the lead you get to connect your box to the pc it has got to be the right lead

most reputable sellers will put it in with the box

yeh just cable m8 you can get different boxes for satellite if you want but that is just a cable box

hey thanks for that so whats the difference between the eurovox and my already modded ntl box???

is your ntl box ran off a card which you give a guy some money every so often to update if so the eurovox works without a card and just relies on firmware which is readily available on sites like this and is easy to install and requires no card programming


i have never ran this system so dont really know the ins and outs but i know a few people who have and they did not receive adult channels or box office which i dont know if its the same for you but you can with a eurovox which is why they changed

yes its what u said but the only thing is i programme the card up my self as i have got a programmer.

so does the eurovox give me any extra channels or anything.
and what abt setting the pin number up to watch the movie channels as u need to enter ur pin before u can watch the movies.

i would recommend the eurovox i havent got your model myself i have the 1000 but i have never had any probs and i know a lot of people with them who dont really have any probs whatsoever

you can buy the 5000 with hardrive installed so this will be ready to roll after you have the firmware on or install your own if you prefer

one thing i will say though is it only has one tuner so recording a channel while watching another is pretty impossible unless you are very lucky its highly unlikely this will work for you
