I have one of these & it is rubbish as the PVR function doesn't work, the box keep rebooting and programs that you do manage to record disappear.

These boxes seem to be hit and miss, does anyone know if this depends on the manufacturer for the hard drive?

Have you tried reading up within this forum?

It may just be that your firmware is out of date.

I have similar problems. Unit keeps saying "hard drive not installed or full" . I have removed the power cable and hard drive and reinstalled and it works for a day . I had 5% showing on the recorder one evening and the next morning it was showing empty (all recordings gone). It shows "rec" when I press the button but sometimes does not save the recording. Its a seagate hard drive.Anyone able to offer a solution ?.

Hi. I have the ex5000 and the pvr bit is rubbish. It is the same as other people have said and so far I can't find a fix for it. the eurovox is good just don't bother with the hard drive.
Good luck.

Does anyone know if these problems are consistent with hard disk manufacturer or size, it seem strange for these boxes to be so hit and miss, I've had the same problem with 1.0 & 1.1a.
