I started off with a 500gb Maxtor Basics drive, formatted to FAT32. The Eurovox wouldn't recognise it. Once I'd partitioned the drive to 2 * 250Gb (I have Partition Magic) both partitions were recognised.
HOWEVER, I kept losing the channels: I would start a record, but it would fail: everything would freeze, and I'd have to reboot the machine and re-load the channels from a saved channels.tbn file.
I decided to try a different hard drive (a Sumo, one 500GB partition formatted to FAT32). The large partition is recognised without a problem, and I've not had any other problems. Recording, both using the PVR and using TimeShift, work flawlessly.
I've therefore concluded that my original problems were because of the Maxtor drive: either there's a compatibility issue, or the drive has a problem: either way, I'd recommend you use a different drive if you can get one, and see if that resolves your issues. |
