It doesnt need to show any visual signs of failure. You need to replace it with a 16V 1000uf cap, part No. VH50E at Maplins. They will have it but wont know unless you give them a part number.
I still think its a TSOP fault but changing the C14 along with the Jtag is recommended.
Thanks satsmo, your help has been immense. Fitted new cap ( part no. VH5OE, 50p from Maplins ), jtagged about a dozen times until it succeeded. installed new firmware and hey presto! its better than it was before. CHEERS![]()
You're welcome, glad you got it sorted.
hello satsmo hope you can help me i have 2 dead eurovox max v black 2008 boxs both doing my head in.
On the one i get 0000 on display and remote doesnt respond to the box i get on the screen channel currently unavailable i tried jtagging and it erases and writes succesfull but still only get 0000 on display i have tried numerous firmwares and still vcant seem to sort it .
second box all i was getting was ---- scroll around the display when powered up then nothing i tried jtagging this box it said erase succes and then it failed on writing now i dont even get the ---- scroll around display i have swapped power boards over in each box still to the same effect do u think these could be the c14 or c18 capacitor m8 as i found in 2 different forums which is the correct cap to change c14 or c18 thanks for any help satsmo very much apreciated and keep up th good work
thanks in advance
