Please help me get started

Hi All

Just got a Eurovox EX5000 PVR. Retailer say they have loaded all software required.

I tried the powerscan instructions posted and only received 11 channels, animal planet, CNN and a few other rubbish ones.

Please can anyone help me out with getting more channels.

It looks like it only scanned one transponder. Try a factory reset then power scan again.

Menu, Config, Factory Default.

Can you set your box to do a brut force scan of all transponders or try and find out what transponder frequancy is in use in your area and do a manual scan

At least you got Animal Planet, thats one of the best channels to have..make sure you scan at the correct Symbol Rate ....

where about's are you, have you tried your original STB on your feed to rule out cable provider problems?.

Hi thanks so far.

I'm just south of Croydon (Coulsdon), normal STB is fine. I used the Symbol rate 6.952. Is this right?

I scanned using the powerscan function (not the fast install) Is the 'Brute force' power scan different to the powerscan i would have used?

I don't know what it is about Croydon but I have seen this quite a few times before with your area and its always 11 channels.

Do a factory Default, turn box off the on at mains, Menu, Installation, Deep scan, set your symbol rate to 6952 then OK to scan.
