can someone help please

do i have to do the first patch via null cable and then repatches can be done via usb on a technomate 3150

I am also a 1st time user and wondered whether anyone got back to you with any advice on this or pointed you to somewhere else on this forum, any help would be appreciated.

no you dont need to do it that way. you can use a memory stick i have a tm 6900 and iv'e never used a null modem cable but you need a null modem cable for this reason, if you get a glitch when patching or your receiver locks up, then you will need to do
a forced download to clear the problem. it can only be done with the null modem cable, just remember when useing a cable most tm models use the tm loader v187 the tm 3000 models have there own loader that you must use for this model

Benny, can you not do a factory restore and then download as normal?

if you get a bad download of the patch or software etc: or like some members who have loaded the wrong patch,then the box locks up and you cant get access to the receiver menu's to re-set anything.thats why a null modem cable is needed to make a forced download
of anouther patch or official software to clear the receiver and get it working again as normal.
