I have two of these receivers and have only just discovered this site, so I am wondering where I would find a current softcam and what it would do for me? I also wonder about patches. In order to patch, I thought you should have the original file so that if the software on my receiver is 742 surley I can then use 742p to patch it? Or is that wrong?
Either way, I would like to know where I can find the latest software as it seems the Technomate site is somewhat behind the power curve - I have 741 installed (no p)
Thanks
Load this.

Thank you, but I still don't know if a patch modifies original software or replaces it.
In other words if my set is running on TM6800HD Super_742.stb can I patch it with TM6800HDSuper-7-5-12_745p.stb?
Also, I still dont know what a softcam is supposed to do?
Many thanks for your replies
Hi. When you load a new patch it will overwrite the existing patch/firmware. I dont have your receiver but thats the way it works for me. Softcams contain keys for opening channels. Again the channels opened with softcams can vary from receiver to receiver. Hope this makes sense. Regards.
OK Nutsandbolts - thank you.
My receivers are TM 6800 HD Super+
I understand that a patch is in fact a new, complete, program and not simply software to patch an existing program, so v742 is not patched by the v742p patch - it is replaced and therefore v 745p patch also replaces v742 rather than simply patching it.
So, do I also need a softcam and could I view scrambled czech channels with a softcam or is that a no-no?

Hi. To be honest i dont know about the czech channels. Your best bet is, as thijs pointed out, go to download centre and install latest patch and softcam for YOUR receiver and see what it opens. It also depends if you have a motorized dish otherwise the patch/softcams may be no good for you.
Regards.
does anyone know what advantage the new 120 patch for the 6902 gives you over the 119?
