Noobs guide to patching your Technomate

Hi,

noobie with a TM3500 USB. I've tried to follow the instructions with no luck.

Guide for the newbies.

Heres how to load the patches.

Download the relevant patch and extract.
Download the relevant loader and extract.
Connect your receiver to the pc via rs232c cable.
Choose the correct com port.
Leave the receiver on standby.
Open the loader and select the software tab.
Press browse and find the extracted patch.
Press ok then start then wait.

- I downloaded the 3000_series_05-03-2009.zip and extracted it
- I downloaded the 3150_3500_USB_Loader.zip and extracted it
- I connected my PC using a USB2RS232 and serial null modem cable
- I selected the right port (5)
- I opened the loader and selected the software tab
- I pressed browse and found the extracted patch
- I get a message "This file is not a software file, please select another".

- I've redownloaded the patch and an earlier version of the patch and all give the same problem.

- Should the TM3500 be on or off when attempting the upload (tried both)
- Is there any settings required in TM3500 when patching (didn't find any).

Edit. Looks like the Patch was wrong (got that from a friend) and after couple of postings I was able to download the correct one from here. I'm currently attempting to patch the TM.

And the result was that this TM3500 USB PVR model did not need null modem cable, but USB stick upgrade was possible.

Tried following this guide, trying to patch a 3300 2ca box, problem i have is that its been transferring for 15mins and theres no change, how long should it usually take?

mate...your using the wrong port or you ned to turn the reciver off from the back and turn it back on when prompted!

Hi i have bought a technomate 5200d usb while i wait for my dreambox to comeback from dm after repaired can ipatch this reciver if yes where do i need to look for software i am intrested in 1 degree west

Does installing a patch wipe anything? In particular the satellite positions if they were setup manually?

you wont get much help by posting in a sticky.. create a new thread and explain excatly what you need help with..

eg..

reading and undersatnding
inputing
finding location of keys

i previously had a eurovox and worked a treat
can i get the same channels on my tm5200 ?
im using my fixed sky dish
be grateful for sum advice
